Jessica Perry graduated from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in May 2016. She is passionate about the human and its complexes, conditioning and paradoxical desires between individuality and belonging to the group. Jessica is interested in the depths of the human being, his discomforts, his contradictions and his ego, which she believes affect much more important societal problems.
After a creative residency obtained in the summer of 2016 at Fleur d’Asphalte studio for Ce que pensent les autres, she had the chance to create the solo 30sec., in collaboration with Mélissa Merlo, actress graduated from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec. She participated as a performer in the play Ma(G)ma by the collective Castel Blast, presented at the Espace Libre theatre. She also worked as a choreographer on Apprendre la peau, a piece presented at the event Vous êtes ici, organized by La SERRE_arts vivants at the Théâtre Aux Écuries. She was part of the Quebec-Canada team at the Jeux de la Francophonie in Abidjan (2017), Ivory Coast, in a creation by choreographer Marie Béland.
